UPBEAT LOUNGE

UPBEAT is an experimental branding campaign based on my personal interest in branding strategies. A design concept is for a theoretical Art Deco Jazz Lounge located in downtown Toronto, that would have a very upbeat and swinging ambiance. This lounge would be a place for urban professional who loves to gather at least once a week. The branding strategy is to to draw attention to their target audience that the lounge is fitting and almost exclusive to their social class and age group, and that its cozy, comfortable and a great place to relax.

This design was for Scinagro, which is a new product line by the jewelry suppliers “Bartel” and “Weissbarth”. Their aim is to promote a new line of products that utilizes eco friendly techniques to create jewelries through natural materials such as woods or leaves. Scinagro is actually ‘Organics’ spelled backward.

Die Beschrifter is a label printing company from Germany. The owner is Italian and was keen to have a bit of a design style that reflects his personal self. Thus, I took the liberty of making the owner himself as part of the design by having an illustration of him holding on to his own brand, which reflects his own hands on dedication to his prints and labels.

Starz Hair Salon – Thesis Project 2006 “Trivertising”

This was a final thesis project for school that applies a non-existing branding strategy called “tryvertising”. I had designed this for Starz Hair Workshop to rebuild their identity and create a better graphic communication system for their targeted audience. The idea of the design is that Starz Hair Salon allows customers the experience of more customization and self-sufficiency in trying new products and testing them out.

An eco friendly shopping bag with hair product samples and printed instructions.

A hairstyles guide which inspired by PMS color book.

The poster is also a pull out business card, audience can pick there favorite hair style and visit the shop if they want to.

Alpha Projekt GmbH

Alpha Projekt GmbH is a project management company from Germany. I was tasked with designing this logo for the, to symbolize that the company is capable of making profit out of any kinds of bright ideas. The red streak is an abbreviated alpha symbol and the curvature of the line displays the company’s confidence and malleable innovative characteristic.

Laura Architecture

German born freelance architect Amica Laura Schreiber tried to build up her own brand by tasking me to help design this exciting logo. She is a fresh graduate in architecture, and the concept behind this logo was to turn her first name Laura into a constructive building, to really place herself in the audiences’ head when they think of her architectural work. Laura’s architectural theme was eco-friendly, and thus the green colored theme.

Blanc Choco – Indulge your crave

Blanc Choco is an e-commerce store that primarily sells female accessories. Blanc Choco means white chocolate, and the idea of the entire logo and brand is that women loves chocolates and that the female consumers should indulge into the female accessories of Blanc Choco the same way as they passionately surrender to their cravings for chocolates.

N4E1 Fall/Winter 2009 Tee shirts Collection

The project here was to conceptualize and design T-shirts for N4E1’s Fall/Winter 2009 line. There was high level of creative freedom in this series, as the theme was pop culture. The Recession Proof design for example reflects the recession crisis of today. The “everyone will be famous for 15 minutes” is the famous quote by Andy Warhol. I find that these themes though reflects pop culture of today, they are time endearing as well as these same cultural themes repeats themselves throughout history (i.e. recession is a repetitive cycle and there are always going to be one-hit-wonders in today and future entertainment industry).
